The training for freediving has been one of my greatest challenges both as an athlete and as a professional Personal Trainer. There are so many aspects of each dicipline, and even more aspects of each freediver who trains. Many years of hard training and experience within other sports has helped me to know my body and it's approximate limitations - but in freediving it's all different.

I hope to share some of my area of expertise here, namely the basic training. Yes, the best way to become a good freediver is of course - to freedive. But sooner or later you will reach your limit within equalization, oxygen consumption, squeeze, physical or mental ability. Now it's only for you to determine: which one of these stops you from going deeper?

I beleive physical fitness plays a great part in a good freediving performance. All the best freedivers spend hours training out of the water and have very athletic bodies.

Here you will soon find more text and articles about training for freediving.
